Again, at the back of my mind, there's a musical score for this.
Oh the stars
they're not in heaven
I saw them
walking down the street, smiling, holding hand-in-hand
with some maiden.
It broke my heart.
I was wasting seven nights, looking up
I was waiting
I was looking for a spark
I was looking in the dark
all for nothing...
Oh the stars
they're mean like dragons
They keep you quiet and obedient, afraid of fire, resilient
then they bite you.
No they take your heart away,
they live forever.
Like the thunder in the storm
I saw the signs but waited some more
I was heartbroken,
for being stupid
Silly me.
Oh the stars
they're not from heaven.

A thousand years
Of heavy fears
thinking makes me want to scream!Like the thunder in the storm
I saw the signs but waited some more
I was heartbroken,
for being stupid
Silly me.
Oh the stars
they're not from heaven.

ReplyDeleteLovely poem...right from the heart Kumiko... :)
ReplyDeleteI like to write about the stars and often I use them to disguise how I'm feeling at a particular time. I enjoyed your stars...i like the way you used them to tell your tale, made them the bad guys. :)
ReplyDeletePlease help giving (belated) birthday wishes to 3 or 4 fellow poets:
