It has been forever since I last shared with you a nail post! That is because, it's been forever since I got to take care of my mani! Would you believe, that the length of NOTD drought on this blog is equivalent to the length of time my cuticles were left dry, unattended and just ugly!

So for this week I decided to wear pretty nails once more, for that, I resorted to an untried polish that I bought from Apothica.com, Essie's Neo-Whimsical*. :)

How many times do we have to read how our eyes are the windows of our soul before we believe it? Once.

So today let me share with you my first and to date, only dip on Rimmel's Lycra Lash Extender Mascara*. Unfortunately, I don't have an on-lash swatch for this one, but just continue reading and I'll do my very best to give you an accurate description of what it's like to be able to extend your fluttering lashes.

TurnbackTuesday is a section of LovingSunshine.com dedicated to personal thoughts and other stories of inspiration, love and life that I share with you every week. TurnbackTuesday is scheduled every Tuesday, 11:30AM PH time.

Late last year, I developed a raging love affair with the word wild. It chanced upon me at a time when I much needed the mightiness of its current and the haunting shapes of its shadows. I needed to be wild, so wild came for me.

Do you believe that? Remember how Dumbledore (of Rowling's Harry Potter series of course) said, the sword of Griffindor will answer to those who need it? That it shall present itself to the champion who needed it... well that's how I would describe the word wild and its enchanting little walk on my carpet. I was bleeding myself dry with my motionless stupor, and I couldn't care less about death. It was ugly, bland as a salt-free diet, and stiffening to imagine. So wild cut through my walls and pushed me to the floor. I was forced to stand up, then when I realized how cool it was to lose a little bit of security, I decided to make dust angels (since snow in the Philippines is a possibility that I dare not see happen in my lifetime).

For the sake of glorifying the pleasant turn of events, let me share with you some songs that touch base on the wilderness called life--and emotions.

Wildflower

Be careful how you touch her, she'll awaken
As sleep's the only freedom that she knows
And when you walk into her eyes, you won't believe
The way she's always paying for a debt she never owes

State of Grace

We learn to live with the pain.
Mosaic broken hearts
But this love is brave and wild.

Wild Moments

Maybe in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Maybe in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all

What other songs do you think of at the mention of the word wild? What does being wild mean to you (open for positive and/or negative thoughts on the four-letter-monster)?

Since I bleached my hair and sported this sunny blonde hair color, I've been itching to lighten my skin too. Sounds just right, don't you think? With lighter hair comes lighter skin desires! So I got really excited when I heard of Nivea's newest answer to lighter, fairer skin, once and for all. I trust Nivea whitening for face and body, but what got me all worked up is in this new product's formulation. It is in a serum format! I love using serums! They are more potent and are more comfortable to work with in any weather: humid or wet. So yes, I'm so happy Nivea finally introduced the new Nivea UV Whitening Serum in the Philippines! It's so perfect for us skin afficionados because aside from its whitening benefits, it also contains real Vitamin C, nature extracts, UV filters and Hydra IQ that ensure whiter, healthier, more even-toned and moisturized skin within just 14 days, with results that visibly last. To help you understand deeper why this new serum is worth every peso, here are eleven skin-sational benefits found in but one humble product.

Advanced UVA & UVB cell protection with SPF25 and PA++
Nourishes sun damaged skin
Enriched with Licorice for fairer skin tone
Enhances and supports the skin renewal process

A secret place is home to a lost heart. Back when I was still in college, studying my horses off, I have been going to this vegetarian house near my school called Likha Diwa. If my translation is accurate, Likha means create and Diwa is spirit. If I may also say, the place is definitely named appropriately.

Likha Diwa calls upon me everytime I visit my alma mater. I spent so many lovely afternoons alone in that place: reading, writing, drawing... but my favorite thing to do at Likha Diwa is "breathing". It's a breathing room for me. Such a peaceful food place brimming with inspiration and warmth that you don't normally get from commercial eateries.

I got to chance upon the lovely place recently and my heart still felt the same joyous exhilaration as I did the first time I dined in. The place offers such cozy intimacy ideal for bonding fiery friendships, and then some.

I shall be sharing with you some snaps from the inside but don't expect food pictures because if you're curious, I want you to go see the place for yourself. Immerse in her glory. Their food is beyond home-grown comfort brewed, they have heartfelt and kind choices--you'd have to taste for yourself to feel what it means to have such kindred spirit nourish your body through a meal.

Likha Diwa is located along C.P Garcia street, just a stone's throw away Krus na Ligas in Diliman, Quezon City. They are open Mondays to Saturdays, 11AM to 10PM if I remember my details right.

Do you have a "secret place" too? Share or at least describe please!

I love reading success stories because I find inspiration and strength in them. Today, let me share with you a little background story on one of my favorite retail chains, Max's Restaurant and their new brand ambassador, the equally delicious hehe Coco Martin.

When Coco Martin was revealed to be the new face of my beloved house of great chicken, I was further enamored by the reason behind Max's choice. Unknown to many, Coco worked as a young server at Max's Fairview in 2001 before he become the illustrious actor that he is today. In fact, it was his experience at Max’s that has actually paved the way for this unassuming talent to be discovered. One of Coco’s customers saw great potential in him while he was busy serving Max’s delectable home-cooked dishes to diners. Coco’s ‘customer’ turns out to be a talent scout from one of the leading television networks in the country. He invited Coco for an audition and to explore acting as a profession.

Vince's Life is a chic-lit series, a trilogy if I may dare say, that I followed with enthusiasm as it evolved. I am typing this in advance because I feel like this scheduled post is in need of some release. Today, it's January 17. You shall be reading this anytime on or after January 29. That's a good two weeks from now. I hope the way I wish to conclude this post isn't as changed by then.

So the story goes like this...

The Little Prince is among my most beloved books because the way I was introduced, the way I got to know and the way I still find ways to reconnedt with the book is . just . so . magical.

To begin with, I only read the book for a book report back when I was in first year high school. We were tasked to choose our choice of title to make a book report on and the person I've been crushing on at that time recommended The Little Prince to me. It's L's favorite book, that's why, and given a chance to read L's favorite book (for school even) was something I just can't let pass.

Upon reading, I was so grateful for L's effort to really persuade me to read The Little Prince. At that time, I had no idea what I was missing out on. It came to a point where L had to really detail with me the bullet reasons why I should trust the book recommendation. I'm glad I did for now, here I lie, wanting to complete every single special edition of The Little Prince. I was already gifted with one of the collectible prints. Next in line, something I wish to receive on one of my birthdays, is The Little Prince pop-up book. It's been years since I found out that there's such a thing as a Little Prince pop-up book and until now, I want to have one--without buying one! I want it to be a gift, so it'd be more meaningful to keep.

With all that love, it was just right that I also get to know the man behind The Little Prince, author Antoine de Saint-Exupery. In his book, Wind, Sand and Stars, he narrates his personal story of the craft, the art and the mysteries of being a pilot.

After achieving my dream blonde hair, this post to know how I bleached my hair blonde in 7 days, I ended up reaching for gold and bronze eyeshadows for a warmer hint of color on my face. This is to balance the brightness of my hair. :) So today, I want to share with you exceptional choices from Maybelline. These eye treats are out of this world, the Universe must miss them already.

Presenting a beautiful Maybelline Eye Studio duo shadow pan and Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows from their Fall 2012 collection. These were gifted to me by my then girlfriend since these are not available in the Philippines. :(

First and foremost,  the Bronze Blowout eyeshadow. My.God. It's a beauty.

Also these Color Tattoos, one of which I gave to a very beautiful girl I recently met.

These shadows can be used together or alone. On a regular day, the golden tattoo is enough to add a hint of sparkle on the lids (even girls with glasses can benefit from this). For a bolder look, or to turn that day makeup to an evening party worthy EOTD, the bronze tattoo would definitely add depth and fierceness around the eye area.

Of course, these tattoos can also be used as a primer for the powder shadow duo. If in a hurry, fret not because Bronze Blowout is pigment and crease-free enough to stand on its own.

How about you? Any makeup suggestions for blonde hair? I really have to learn how to do this right!
