BOOKREVIEW#69: Passion by Lauren Kate

Compared to Torment (reviewed here), Passion is a more exciting set of pages. It details the past lives of Lucinda Price and adds more vivid color and mysterious light to the everlasting curse overshadowing our timeless lovebirds.

Luce would die for Daniel.
And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way…
Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime… going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.
Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.
Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames… forever.

I.could.not. put the book down. It was refreshing to finally witness the lives that made the present Lucinda more volatile yet stronger against "the curse". It was very enthralling to go back in time and see this most epic love story unfold. It was as if the reader is reawakened as Lucinda is reawakened of her past as well. Passion is so far the best of the Fallen series, and yes, I have to admit, as much as Torment was torture to endure, Passion was an undeniable perfect comeback for Lauren Kate.

Passion is a story of star-crossed lovers with a twist--so twisted death followed it from one lifetime to the next. If I may say, Passion is the heart of Fallen should it be broken down to notes as fragrant as the morning dew. It was exciting to submerge my senses to Passion's pages, and I would not mind another dive to remind me of how much true, passionate, and sincere love can endure anything.
