Book to Basics #7 A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans

Are you a hopeless romantic?
I think I'm a hopeless romantic. When I saw A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans amongst the stocked shelves of Fully Booked, I fell in love with it. It had a very liberating feeling to it, the design, plus the glitters completely had me on a stick.

A Hopeless Romantic became quite a challenging read to me because the novel was really long for a chic lit; but it had a redeeming factor near the end, which brought me to tears.

In a way, A Hopeless Romantic felt like reading my very own notebook, filled with doodles and song lyrics and torn pages. I know I am sometimes/almost always a hopeless romantic too; but I know through my share of heartaches and disappointments, a huge part of me became quite cynical and sarcastic about love and the mumbo-jumbo that comes with.  If you feel me on this, I'm sure A Hopeless Romantic will pinch you right where you wish, and wished not, be pinched.

I recommend A Hopeless Romantic to those who has time to spare since it can be a bit of a tedious read for a kilig find but more importantly, I recommend the novel to those who have been afraid of love and of giving love a chance. To those who are looking for inspiration or reason to be brave enough to seize the opportunity of making love happen (again or finally), this book is for you.

As I've learned from the novel, don't runaway from love.
