Book to Basics #40 Dumped edited by Dolores Max

Oh the pain of being dumped. We all either fear it or cause it.

As part of my wish to celebrate June with heartbreak, instead of triumph like the idea of a June wedding would suggest, I read Dumped. An anthology of short stories edited by Dolores Max. I guess I should find relief in not being able to enjoy it or relate to this particular set so much. I have been dumped... and have be the one who did the dumping, but my psyche developed zero connection with this set. The only heartache I felt was disappointment.

Or maybe it's me. The book seeks to be "the book for the heart I broke". Maybe, I'm not its audience.

I do like one very quirky scene from one of its stories. It says this:
"So what if she thinks the movie was pretentious and contrived, and you thought it was marvelous? Remember you're looking for a person who wouldn't say yes all the time."
Interesting, right? Hm... do you think you're capable of sensing if the road leads to heartbreak hotel?
