REVIEW: Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Lip Balms

Human Heart Nature Lip Balms got revamped few months ago and I know this is a rather late review of the products especially since I have used them for a while now, but it's better late than never! Here's a quick feat. on these 100% Natural Lip Balms.

The Lip Balms come in three yummy flavors: (from back to front) Tutti Frutti, Choco Fudge and Peppermint. My personal favorite would still be Peppermint because I love the cooling sensation it leaves behind but you know, it's a "Pacquiao vs. Marquez" fight for me between Peppermint and Choco Fudge. Uhm, yes, the Pacquiao vs. Marquez III fight is in the background as we speak type. :)

The lip balms I photographed aren't brand new, in fact I've had them since August, so I am pleased by how the new lip balm sticker looks very beautiful despite continued use. The old packaging (and other brand's packaging) often fade or get torn when "battered" in my kikay kit/trove.

From left to right, we have Tutti Frutti, Choco Fudge and Peppermint. Despite the obvious tint on Tutti Frutti, may I clarify that it still is colorless when applied. It's slightly weird cause the tube is very pink yet when you apply it, it's colorless. I don't know what happens to the color! Similar to Choco Fudge, but I don't mind because the flavor behind the two--obviously fruity and the other chocolatey, is very obvious! These lip balms are very well rested on the side of "yummy" lip balms, you might end up developing a lip-licking habit with these. :)

So... what's my verdict on these products? :)

Pros:
-the formulation really improved. Compared to the old variant of Human Heart Nature Lip Balms, these reformulated ones glide smoother and are not waxy at all.
-the flavors are well-improved too! Again, compared to the old variant of Peppermint lip balm and Choco-Vanilla lip balm, the new Peppermint and the new Choco Fudge is BETTER!
-the packaging is classier. Before the lip balms were just wrapped with a "paper sticker" now it's a "plastic sticker" hence the design is more vivid and is more sweaty-hands friendly (Don't you just hate it when your hands rub off the design or your make-up?)
-very affordable. Each lip balm is just about Php75
-since this is a natural product, you can expect that the shelf life is limited. I'm relieved that the expiry stamp for these balms are clear.
-Made in the Philippines!

Cons:
-we want MORE flavors! Admit it, you're a lip-maniac too. You can't get enough of lipsticks and lip balms and lip anything! So I'm sure you share the sentiment--please develop more flavors. With an affordable range such as these, it's going to be amazing to collect! One for every mood :p
-the sticker sometimes peels off. Sadly, the sticker adhesive fails after a while. It doesn't fade but the sticker has a tendency of peeling off--as a whole!
-no seal. Although you pretty much can determine if a lip balm is used, you can't really know if a lip balm is exposed/opened just by looking at it. These lip balms do not come sealed so I'm not a fan of that fact.
-the expiry stamp fades. :(

These balms are made with 100% Natural ingredients. Well, Human Heart Nature is a strong advocate of that chemical-free lifestyle so it's cool that they come up with products that are high quality and easy to relate with.

Ingredients for Tutti Frutti: Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Beeswax, Theobroma cacao (cacao) seed butter, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, flavor (all-natural), Calendula officinalis (marigold) extract, flavor (all natural),  zinvc oxide, manganese violet (CI 77742), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, tocopherol, iron oxide (CI 77491)

Ingredients for Choco Fudge: Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Beeswax, Theobroma cacao (cacao) seed butter, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Calendula officinalis (marigold) extract, flavor (all natural), Theobroma cacao (cacao), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, tocopherol

Ingredients for Peppermint: Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Beeswax, Theobroma cacao (cacao) seed butter, Caprylic/Capric triglyceride, Mentha piperita (peppermint) essential oil, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Calendula officinalis (marigold) extract, flavor (all natural), Menthyl lactate, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, tocopherol

Did you notice the slight differences in the ingredients listed per lip balm flavor? Isn't exciting? I mean, I don't know about you, but I enjoy reading the ingredients list of ALL products I use. It's a habit I developed recently, I admit, but am very happy that developed nonetheless. I mean, being in the beauty industry, it's very important to be weary of even the technicalities when it comes to cosmetics (yes, cosmetics in general including skin care, hair care and all sorts of body care--not just make-up).

Do you read the label? Few months ago I committed to disclosing the ingredients list of all products I review and feature. Unfortunately, the commitment came late and some of the products I have lined up do not have their ingredients listed on the product, instead they have their ingredients list on their box (TRICKY! Who keeps boxes anyway!?); but rest assured I'm really keeping my promise because I want you to develop the label-reading habit too!
