Beauty Question 21

What`s the best hair serum/oil you`ve ever tried?

This is an easy question. I have really bad hair so every good effect is noticed with glee.

The best hair serum I've ever tried is Kerastase Nutritive Oleo Smoothing Serum. It really tames down the frizz I have curly hair so you know what kind of frizz I have to tame down and it is light-weight and fragrant. The price is not even a problem, because a little goes a really long way. It is available in most salons and is definitely worth every cent. I've been a user since higschool. Note: I'm almost a decade off highschool.

Beauty Question 22

How do you take care of dark spots, if you have them?

I used to have dark spots but I fix them by whitening (which evens out any skin imperfections, including dark and pimple spots). Lately I've been taken cared of by my Garnier Light Overnight Peeling Cream. It is by far the most soothing and effective peeling cream I've tried. It's so gentle and it leaves my face soft and supple upon waking up the next day. I really love it. It effectively erase my nasty pimple mark and it also evened my skin so now I not only look fairer but I also look younger (since uneven skin tone is a sign of skin aging).

Beauty Question 23

Simple pimple question lang: How young would you say it is ok to start using make-up?

I've been using make-up since highschool, although it wasn't allowed.

I've been using make-up since I realized the power of dotting on gloss to brighten up the face. If you stick on the safe make-up (the safer and more natural it is, the better) and stick on a strict cleansing regimen: NEVER SLEEP WITH MAKE-UP ON, I think starting out as early as in your teens is okay. :)

Beauty Questions 24

If you were stranded on a desert island and you could only bring three make-up items with you, what would they be and why?

I'd bring my EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint (because it's sweet and minty haha).
Hope he comes with the package!
I'll also bring my Human Heart Nature Mineral Powder because it's really the best (cruelty-free, all natural and sweet smelling) pressed powder in town. Lastly, I'd have to say my Human Heart Nature Mineral Lipstick in Sweet Nectar goes with me wherever. Check this out for Sweet Nectar swatch.

Beauty Question 25

I would like to know if it's okay for me to use salt scrub on a daily use.

I scrub at least thrice a week, so that's almost every day and as long as you moisturize intensively soon after, I think it's alright. My skin never felt better and smoother since I welcomed body scrubs in my regimen. Sticking to the gentle and natural ones would help. Read the label and stay away from nasty chemicals. Would you like to know more about these nasties?

Beauty Question 26

I had terrible blackheads, especially on my nose, do you have any tips or solutions on how to remove them? can i ask more? how to choose the right foundation for our skin tone?

A routine facial can go a long way in keeping those nasty blackheads from forming. For basic facials, I have long loved the facial services from Let's Face It. All very reasonably priced and I always leave their care smooth and soft-skinned.

You should try their facial along with the right mask for your skin (are you oily, sensitive, dry?). It's a very soothing experience, painful at first, but definitely worth it. On a daily basis, you could get away with a strict facial cleanse regimen. If you have normal to oily skin, try Human Heart Nature's Balancing Facial Wash because it has mini bamboo scrubs that would help you keep those dry skin / build up at bay.

Beauty Question 27

Ever since I was born, I had this super straight hair. Most people say that I am lucky to have this kind of hair. I agree so, but there is only one problem. My hair is too thin and it is limp. I tried many local shampoos to see if it would bring me any change, but no luck. So, is there still any way to permanently add volume to may thin and limp hair without ever tryng the 'everyday-is-blowdry-day?" LOL :)

Cheers to your website Ms Kumiko! And please continue to spread positivity among your readers <3

I have curly hair... but it's not the pretty big curls you see in the magazines! I have gone through a number of straightening treatments too so my hair's kind-a weird right now, but I had this blog before on how to amp up hair volume overnight. You can check it out here

What you can also do is this simple trick (best on damp hair): tilt your head down, spritz on volumizing spray (or apply hair mousse) from your roots, comb through your hair, spice it up a little by giving it a messy shake, flip your head/hair back and there you have it. Volume-in-an-instant. Think KK.

Beauty Question 28

What`s your favorite beauty and hair product?

My favorite would definitely be Human Heart Nature's Intensive Hair Mask. If you've been following me on facebook, you may have already heard of my raves for this product. I color my hair a lot and it really saved me from so much hair fall and bad hair days. I've been loving the product for almost over a year now and I can't live without it, serious. Like when I color my hair, I use the hair mask as my daily conditioner--for a week or so, and because of that my hair is left bouncy and soft and shiny--despite my chemical habit.

Beauty Question 29

What are your Mac´`s favorites?

I try my best to stay away from Mac products the best I can, but their Mineralized line is really amazing (I recommend Warm Soul and Gleeful). For the lipstick, I really can't get my eyes off Myth. :)

Beauty Question 30

Hi Kumiko! :) I'm a new follower of your blog. I have a question regarding eyeshadows. I have hooded eyelids and it makes my eyeliner smudge (even the waterproof ones). And also I have little space to put eyeshadow on my eyelids (because my eyes are small). What eye makeup look can I do? :)

Use a primer. I so love Benefit Stay Put Don't Stray Primer because it helps improve the opacity of my shadow while keeping it in place. That would pretty much solve your smudgy concern. :)

Another thing, I would recommend for you to stick to monochromatic tones for your eyes since you have little space to work with :) I think playing it neutral on your lids (aka downplay your problem areas) will help. Benefit has this cream shadow called Birthday Suit which is really really pretty. Pair it with a liquid pen liner from ELF and or liquid liners from NYX cosmetics which has a wide range of colors.

Finish off with a thickening mascara, such as Maybelline Cat's Eye and you're done! If you smudgy eye makeup is your problem, I think playing it up with blushes and lipsticks would be great. Cargo cosmetics have crazy wonderful blushes. :)

Always smile! :)

Earlier today, I showed Paypal some love by purchasing these fragrances from! I know it'd take another month or so (and a heck of another customs billing!) but I'm excited to receive these items. I hope they arrive sooner!

French Connection FCUK Her 3

Prada Infusion de Fleur D'Oranger Eau de Parfum

 Calvin Klein We are One

Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege Eau de Parfum

One of my all-time favorites

Harajuku Lovers Music Eau de Toilette

Anyway, I hope before these items arrive, I finish off these babies which I have yet, well used up.

Currently my everyday scent, Calyx Eau de Toilette
Really lovin' this right now because it's slim and very handy, Fits my bag well.

Unopened, just recently given to me by my mom... coincidentally while I was secretly drooling over Room in Rome haha

Gucci II
A rather "formal" scent which I am sure I would not use so much cause I won't be able to carry it around a lot... since the bottle is extremely heavy!

These... I thought I lost but are apparently inside my mom's office. :D I'll embed them according to my most missed scent. Maybe I'd sneak them out someday soon? If you all don't know, my mom loves perfumes as much as I love brushes.

Most missed: Burberry Brit

Very cute Japanese-eque design, Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Bloom.

And of course my Issey Miyake A Scent stuffs...

Oh! Going through all these perfumes made me miss another all-time favorite perfume (also very memorable), Anna Sui Dolly Girl

How about you, what's your favorite scent? Okay, I'll accept answers in plural form! :D

Always smile! :)

So... what's next?

I know I was supposed to put up a box something but it's been so busy and realized I don't want to do anything in haste. Anyway, in other parts of the world, someone is celebrating her birthday and is having a giveaway so I joined and I'm crossing my fingers that having the "birthday charm" would make me lucky. I hardly win makeup! Her selection's amazing!

Happy birthday sweets!

Beauty is skin deep--so is skin whitening. I have reviewed about L'oreal Paris Melanin-Vanish double-action Whitening Day Cream before here but let me share with you how second time's a charm.

PS. I always say is a charm: first time's a charm, second time's a charm, third time's a charm! hehe So just read below to know more about whitening and what it actually means to have transparent skin!

The secret to white skin: de-saturation of cells with melanin, is now available in jars. :)

I didn't get to post much product shots before cause I wanted to focus on a comic before and after shot, so let me take this second opportunity to share with you L'oreal White Perfect... nothing spells effective product than a returning customer, right?

I love how creamy it is. :)

Since my previous experience of L'oreal White Perfect Day cream ended ever so positively, it was a no-brainer to include White Perfect again on my Aug-Sept. quest on whiter, fairer skin. L'oreal White Perfect whitens skin in two way: by helping neutralize the enzyme to blame your skin's melanin production to, it greatly hasten skin whitening and by helping unload melanin in skin layers to reveal a more brightened and lightened skin complexion--that glows healthily and is visibly more "transparent", or should I say rosy.

Here's what the box had to say, why you should choose Dermo-Expertise: "For many years, L'oreal has been developing a strong expertise on women's skin through advanced research and partnership with dermatologists worldwide. Our products provide visible results to every woman, at any age. L'oreal Dermo-Expertise is one of the most appreciated and trusted skin care brands worldwide."

This product's trademark Melanin-Vanish system is key to its visible effects.

Other than L'oreal White Perfect Day Cream, I also used the Double-Essence which is oh my goodness, I can't even begin share with you how I love this product (I did make a rave review on this product before on my Facebook Page).

An active ingredient found in L'oreal White Perfect Day Cream, Tourmaline Gemstone, is also the reason why my Aug whitening BFF is so effective. Known to help stimulate skin microcirculation, Double Essence (especially when used with L'oreal White Perfect Day Cream) brings a very natural and a more rosy glow for any skin tone. Immediately, these products leave a hydrated and visibly brighter face perfect to turn any from right side up. :) If you want to reduce your pimple marks, you should try these products.

Check out the two streaks of cream/essence. It's so light and fluid and so very easy to apply all over the face. Easily absorbed too. This by far is the most un-stickiest whitening essence I've ever slathered on my face.

What the box had to say, why you should go for transparent skin: "Excessive melanin production can saturate cells with dark pigments, leading to appearance of spots and pigmented marks. It obstructs the light diffusion through the skin. On the surface, the skin looks yellowish and uneven, preventing your inner rosy glow to shine through!"

I sometimes use the essence on its own and skip the day cream, especially if I'd totally just be indoors. I am a huge fan of how my skin is immediately moisturized by the essence; and I love the texture it leaves me with. Speaking of texture, the two essences that melts and blends perfectly well together brings a comfortably fresh feeling all over the face--it's like skincare that doesn't feel heavy at all, rather it feels like you re-washed your face after application (since the essence is watery/fluid).

Between the two, I think the essence is definitely so much worth every dime because it can be used in the morning and night.. . Although wait, uhm... maybe it's the day cream because it also works as an effective sun block? O-K. I'm torn. They're both worth it!

Both products are dermatologically tested on Asian Skin.

L'oreal White Perfect is available in leading department stores, drug and beauty stores, supermarkets and hypermarts nationwide.

I am half-amused and half-very full because I just came from the Glee special screening of season 3's first episode/having dinner at my favorite PBCO. :) I was with my major friend Dyan, who is writing for so do check her articles out. We are super fangirls of Glee and I can't be happier to have shared tonight's fangirl moment with her. :)

You know being with friends after such stressful days is always worth a long commute. To those who have long bid school goodbye, I'm sure you understand how you can sometimes wish it was just like high school/college where you can expect to see your friends down the hallway, available for a quick laugh.

Gleeks and loving it.

To those who haven't seen the first episode yet, check this Youtube preview--PS. I'm very much into the whole Glee Galactics:

It’s a date with your current and ex lovers when “What’s Your Number?” opens on October 5 in theaters nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. With our favorite "House Bunny" Anna Faris making it happen with Chris Evans.

Who's Anna Faris? You may remember her comic talent in hits from the “Scary Movie” series, “Just Friends” and “House Bunny.”  Other impressive appearances in acclaimed dramas include “Lost in Translation” and “Brokeback Mountain.”

Tapping the taboo in adult conversations on the number of sex partners, “What’s Your Number?” initially introduces us to Ally Darling (Faris) on a quest to find a husband.  Ally is a delightfully flawed woman who has just read in a magazine article warning that women who have had relationships with 20 or more men are unlikely to settle down and get married.  In a panic, she realizes that she has reached her limit and instead of looking for a new boyfriend, she decides to revisit her 19 exes hoping to find the ideal one.  Assisting her on this quest is her attractive neighbor Collin (Evans).

“I think there’s a social pressure to be in a relationship, to get married and have kids.  In our opening scene, Ally is a vegan because her boyfriend is a vegan and she gets dumped.  Then there’s this wealthy guy and she pretends to be upper class and one of her boyfriends is British so she goes all out on the accent,” says Faris.

“But I don’t think she’s being insincere, she says ‘here is how I’m going to make it work, I want to be in this relationship.  I’ve done that and I think lots of women have done that,’ reflects Faris on her character.

Also starring on the film is Faris’ real-life husband Chris Pratt as Disgusting Donald, one of Ally’s exes.  His character triggered Ally’s desire to revisit her past relationships.  When they are reunited, he’s morphed into a total heartthrob. Sadly for Ally though, he is now engaged and not at all interested in her.  “I couldn’t be more proud of my wife.  A lot of actresses have their image to worry about or vanity; but Anna will fall down and have chocolate all over her face and toothpaste all over her mouth.  She’s the hottest clown in the world,” Pratt says.

Faris brings Ally to life with her impeccable comic timing and authenticity that most women will easily identify with.  But Faris points out that Ally is a more complex heroine, “I’ve always loved the idea of a woman screwing up, not knowing what to do. This totally appealed to me because I keep hearing from my friends and other women that “What’s Your Number?” feels like their story.”

Always smile! :)

I don't watch Glee. Yes, I know about Glee, have heard and actually have enjoyed listening to some of the cast's covers but I don't watch Glee... well, before I saw Glee 3D I didn't.

Last Friday I was at the press premiere of Glee 3D in the Philippines and oh my goodness, I can deifnitely see me seeing it maybe two more times (or depending on how many friends and schedules I can skip to squeeze in another Glee moment). It's so far the best 3D concert movie I've ever seen! It's so amazing. I'm now officially a GleeK.

You should not let pass the opportunity to see this 3D concert in its limited, 2-weeks only--screening time in the islands. It's definitely worth it, and that is coming from a person who is now a convert. Glee 3D will be showing in theaters starting Sept. 21. Do not miss it.

Here's the trailer and some snaps from the movie that should definitely entice you to watch it stat!

I'm definitely a Brittany addict!

See this dance number in 3D now na!!!Then please tweet me and let's all be fangirls about it!

Oh, how about you. How did Glee change your life? SHARE!

Always smile! :)
