HAUL: Digital Traincase Nyx Round Lipsticks
I love lipsticks. If there's one fixation that could've resulted to my make-up fascination, it would have to be lippies. Few weeks ago, I joined the bandwagon and placed pre-orders for Nyx round lipsticks. No, I'm not a round lippie virgin. In fact, I didn't like round lipsticks because they were not transfer proof, they break easily and they feel waxy; but heck. I was feeling down and blue. I decided to give them another shot. And by another shot I meant I bought 8 Nyx round lipsticks! :p hehe
Here are the swatches of my Nyx Round Lipsticks. They arrived yesterday and was of course enthusiastic about swatching them on my arm. SADLY, one of the lipsticks was broken but I only realized it after swatching so I don't know if I can return. No it can't be my fault because I realized the bullet was broken upon the lipstick touching my arm--not after I had it glide against my skin. Hay. Disappointing. Anyway, the rest were good so I suppose bad apple? Sad... the broken one was my favorite among them all! :( To those wondering, I bought from Digital Traincase.
Among the eight round lipsticks that I bought, these four hits the right spot. I'll post them in order, with no.1 as my top pick!
1. Milan - I have a really dear friend who's from Italy and every time we see each other or talk about personal matters, I think she never fails to invite me to visit Italia so finding out that Nyx' Milan is this lovely mute mauve pink was a pleasant discovery for me. I'm sad that the Milan that arrived in my doorstep was broke (huhu it's my first time to order from Digital Traincase so I'm very sad about the first order bad luck). I really love the color!
2. Eros - There's something about a perfect pout in red that makes any girl feel like a woman. I don't often wear red lips but red lipsticks have a special corner in my life because they make me feel a tad more special and elegant and sexy. Eros, meaning love, is an erotic color indeed. I am quite fascinated by how the lip color powerfully accentuated the lovely shape of my kissers. :)
3. Femme - I just have to say, Femme is such a fun color. I had no idea it'd be this pretty pop of bright coral pink. Even my little sister loves it. This kind of lip color is something that can be first date worthy.
4. Summer Love - Ultimately an erase lips-type of nude, Summer Love is a nude for the brave. This lip color would look amazing with a dark smokey eye make-up I tell you! Hm, I should probably make a look for that!
As usual, the great thing about Nyx Round Lipsticks are their color pay-off, color variety and price. The lipsticks are all very pigmented and almost always honest to the bullet. The color variety of Round Lipsticks are also astounding. I mean, I only ordered eight but those eight went from super nude to fierce red! Price wise, Nyx Round Lipsticks wins the bag for being cruelty free at just approximately Php 150 (roughly $4... is it expensive here, US-based friends?)
What I didn't like about Nyx Round Lipsticks before stands still. They're still not transfer-proof, tends to bleed if one is careless, waxy and the bullet's very soft. Suffice it to say, I'm not converted BUT I don't mind because I love lip color so much, I don't mind having these tubes for fun!
It also doesn't hurt that Digital Traincase have super reliable service. They are very efficient and priced competitively. Heck, they're cheaper than the importer of Nyx (Purbeauty) so if you don't have time to visit Purbeauty at Serendra, I sure don't, then go for the more obvious and practical choice. Digital Traincase. They sometimes have sale items (yes, their already affordable products has marked down prices too!) and free shipping promotions SO yes. I love them. :)
How about you? Own any round lipsticks? Any RLS counterparts you may recommend?
PS. I ain't gonna lie. I bought these lippies because of their names!
