(Jan 31, 2011--Placed FB like button so you can Like this post... to let me know you want me to re-launch something like this again!)

It was such an amazing day! I'ma do it again :)

video
Please ignore the ridiculous blinking. Was both nervous for my date and for my life! haha

Ning's gift bag: Free ZEN Health Magazine (my copy haha which I gave to Ning because I have articles in it--please do get yourself a copy!), free Belle de Jour Power Planner c/o White Hat Yogurt, Sun protect Chapstick (because I have A LOT) and Space Gift Card c/o me again haha.

I overdid it, maybe?

Some cool things WHY White Hat Yogurt is SUPER AWESOME. Who agrees with me on this?

But of course before heading out to The White Hat Yogurt branch, I sent my friends and fans snail mail! Above is the super kind, super energetic, and as you can see, super bubbly Post Master (or mistress).

Please be a part of the next batch of snail mails I'll send out--interested? :)

Oh my mom supports what I do! :) Just sharing.

We both had Plain Yogurt with Blueberries. Maybe Ning doesn't know, but hers had double blueberry toppings :D hihi. Mine had Almonds :) Look at them yummy tubbies, they're happy together.

Ning! The Winner! Let's all say helloo :)

As I've mentioned, I had SUPER fun afternoon with Ning! I couldn't have been more thankful that she was the one who won my contest! We really clicked! :)

Here's the sweet (sugarhigh) angle on things, you know how they say every summer SUMMER FLINGS happen? Well, ever since I got such warm support from you, my friends here online, I thought, hm, Summer Flings? Why not a different F letter word? Summer Friends. That would totally be more awesome, right?

So there enter White Hat. Here in our tropical paradise, Summer means complete heatwave! haha Kidding aside, and truth be told, the funny thing about White Hat Frozen Yogurt is that rain or shine, they're just so good, so guilt-free, so healthy, one doesn't need the "I want to cool down." reason to go ahead and forget the world with one tub.

Yesterday, March 29,2010 I got my chance (FINALLY) to meet and greet and date and "chill" with my blog contest winner, Ning! She was super awesome. I was waiting for her and when I turned to my right, there was this woman, with such a friendly glow smiling at me. I was like "Are you...? Oh hi!!!" And we hugged and I guess there wasn't any ice to break. I felt genuinely happy when I met Ning because she wasn't at all scary or weird or anything negative--which I couldn't help but consider since I don't normally go to malls scheduling dates with complete strangers.

You know guys, Summer is such a warm season, my date with Ning made me realize something. We should all share that warmth. We should be more open to more people and experiences this season of sun. Positivity has long been associated with brightness and radiance--it's summer! How much brighter and more radiant can it be? Let's all strive to leave a little more space for blessings to enter our life. Summer is the season to be healthy, yes. And surprise surprise! Friendly is the new healthy! Oh it is!

What kind of hat does Ning wear, you might wonder?A Bride-to-be's! :)
Let's congratulate her! :) Tadhana nga naman right? I got invited to an exciting declaration of love pa tuloy--on my birthday month pa!!! :)

PERSON who comments with my birthday month would get... IDK, i'll come up with something! :0
clue here: JOIN NA

March officially ends tomorrow! It's my best friend's birthday too... so YES I am in a very happy streak. Take advantage, ask me something.

Oh, if you'd ask for friendship. IT'S A YES!
Stay Happy! Welcome Summer with a BIG smile :D

Back in school, we had this yearly "mantra" and for one year we had to read and live out the "I believe I can" spirit. I think I was in third year high school then.

I'm not so very sure if it contributed anything to my self-esteem or confidence but looking back, I think it's one mantra that has proven itself to be most helpful in many cases. Believe that you can... to be.

For those who don't know, I've been sick for two days already--dehydration, something that I usually get when one, I ate something bad, two, I ate hard to digest food like oysters, and three when I'm at the beach. I feel so delicate when I get dehydrated. Its like a reality check for me that even if I usually feel like I'm invincible, I am actually just a vulnerable grape that can be turned to a raisin.

Because I have no choice but to marry my bed, I had such a boring day the past few, but what's so good about it is I have dogs. My sister brought one of my dogs up (so much for the "no dogs in the room rule") and my dog and I cuddled--a far leap for someone who's afraid of dogs--like super afraid of dogs back then!

This thought made me think of fear--and of being fearless. Isn't that the great thing about our human nature? We at one point can be conquered by our fears then after one or maybe a series of events, the very fear that once could easily make our systems hurl becomes a speck of dust, invisible.

Below is a picture (taken from the net) of one of the slippers I use when walking my dogs (I have three--Santa, Sophia and Prince Yuri). Isn't it pretty? It's the Strawberry Fearless Slippers from Cushe, a cool new brand that just launched itself here in the Philippine shores. I really like it despite it being pink (FYI I'm not a fan of pink no matter how frilly girly I sometimes package myself). It's so sweet and I like the detail, the hive design, especially because it leaves a distinct "footprint". I wish to have the Sunny Yellow Fearless slippers though, haha! Tsk, for those who LOVE colors, you should check out the line, they come in various tones--so eye-candy and irresistible!

I like the way it hugs the feet, very snug without pulling the skin which is a sensitive issue I have against rubber slippers. I also like that the thong isn't like your usual slipper--which then gives the tan line on my feet a break, haha! Other trivial things that I love about the Fearless Slippers are of its packaging. I like that the plastic packaging is recyclable and that the slipper's hanger is a makeshift boomerang!

I turn "fearless" because it's comfy and it looks really unique. One time, I joked to my friend, it takes a certain person to carry this kind of footwear, which leaves me this question... are you that kind of person?
Be fearless and conquer with style. Share me a fearless story and together we'd inspire the world.

I'm just a girl, in front of my laptop, asking a bunch of strangers, to an afternoon of dessert.
Well, no, not THAT White Hat, but this:

Because today's been a busy yet successful day, I would like to reward myself with this "contest". I don't really have anything grand to give away, but with this I also hope to scratch an itch I've been dying to do--make use of the Enjoy Vouchers I won through an online (blogger) contest as well.

I would like to take one of my readers out to an afternoon of yogurt delight, preferably at Shangri-la Mall because it's my favorite mall in the metro, and just chill, let this summer heat lightly pass. If you're in the Philippines, and you're interested in meeting someone random, well not random because you don't have a choice but to meet me, just repost this blog and comment with your contact details (name, email address and links to your site: blog, twitter or fb would suffice) and the link to which you posted a link to this blog--try twitter, FB, blogs, the more the merrier--one repost is to one vote, oh yes.

Honestly, I'm not sure if anyone would bother reply to this, haha, but I'm going to use that voucher whether with or without a "date" so might as well have one! If I get good feedback, I'll throw in this too (or instead)!

Max Brenner Chocolate Fondue
Come on, be my summer friend!

I would put a time frame on this but since I don't even know if I would receive a reply, I'd rather not. hahaha! If no one's interested or available, I'll just date myself and blog about it! Do participate, I'm a nice girl.

-K-

I have my fingers crossed on this one. Hope I receive at least one reply!

I want to know you, yes you!

One of the most amazing thing real friends can bring to your life's table are Palanca Letters. I love receiving Palanca Letters. It's one of the easiest way to determine which of the people in your life are the people who care about you. There are those letters which would say the casual "reflect on your life and hope you come back a better person" while there are the rare letters, of varying length, which would say the usual casual Palanca message and even tell you specifically what you should reflect on, what you should improve about yourself and what you should try to do away with.

Interestingly, today, March 15, 2010, 11:44PM, almost everyone here at home are busy with their own private letter writing corner as we all comply to our youngest's demand for a Palanca Letter for her very first retreat. It's pretty exciting. I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone else if I say that this evening right here is a memory, not just a moment. I haven't started with my own Palanca Letter yet, but I'm about to in a while, after this perhaps? There's only one first retreat; I've got to make it matter.

Anyway, earlier today was my induction to the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society. Sad, I didn't get to see all of my really good friends today but it's okay. That's what's great about "mature" friendships. You don't need to see each other to feel the loving support. Sometimes you just have to wear each other's gifts to make the positive thoughts resonate through the distance.

I had a great time today. Surprisingly, I've become the "family person" I thought I wasn't or could never be back in high school. I'm not sure if it's because of the many retreats and recollections I've attended but so far so good. I think my family's the most amazing blessing I've ever received and even if there are times when I feel like I don't belong, the times when I realize how wrong I am with that thought carry me through long cold nights of insecurity.

I think it's really important to have good friends that you can treat as family--and a family that you can treat as good friends--because when opportunities for good changes surprise you with a knock, it is these people who'd help you light up the torch that'll light your way. Tonight, I'm about to write a Palanca Letter for my beloved little sister, and because she admittedly told me it's my letter she wishes to read the most, I feel pressured to say the right things.

I... I'm the one she idolize.

There's so much changing happening in my life right now. A lot of clearing out of things. A lot of shifting perspectives. A lot of new things coming in. It's my month of blessings and I feel really really blessed because of it.

Above is a photo of my new cabinet. It's so big and glossy, as you can see it's a cabinet slash "mirror" since it has this somewhat defined reflection going on. Yes, that's me. And the big drawer beside me was my old drawer. You can't see in the photo but my new drawer isn't even one fourth of my old one. I can't make all my undergarments fit, what more my abubots. It's really the season of change, of letting go and of welcoming changes.

Speaking of welcoming changes, I just want to share my new corner. It's the "library" I've long wanted--or at least it's a step. In it I have this sizeable glassed bookshelf to hold all my books (and to frustrate me for not having all the books I wish I have) and a coffee table, bunch of mattress-pillows and a chair. It's lovely. I can't wait to buy my coffee, it's going to be like Starbucks right in our very home.

Sayang lang tapos ko na thesis ko.

Hope everyone is having a blessed March like me. It's International Women's day yesterday (for the Philippines) and today for the western side of the world. Cherish a woman in your life right now because until you realize that they are YOUR BLESSINGS, you can't welcome more.

International Women's Month

There's so much changing happening in my life right now. A lot of clearing out of things. A lot of shifting perspectives. A lot of new ...

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

It's March already and if you've been tuning into my Twitter you'd know that I'm broadcasting a very public food journal so go ahead and show me some loving support or scrutiny. I would appreciate what you'd throw my way. It's Women's month already and this week I share with you some wonderful ways to celebrate sisterhood.

Rest assured, these products are, in one way or the other, the very same products that had contributed to my persisting sanity. Hope you find time to try them too. They won't disappoint.

If there's one thing that every woman should always find time to improve or accentuate, it's her fragrance. According to research, one's scent is among a person's most powerful sexual tool. It has the capacity to attract and excite the opposite sex with just a few sniff. Even animals prove how important a woman's scent is. Especially when a woman is ovulating, her mate is enticed to copulate because of the woman's fragrance.

Now with the many perfumeries sprouting here and there, it gets quite difficult to find the right fragrance. How does one find the creme of the crop easily when the only way to do it right is through actual testing--the trial and error kind.

Perfumes, as they also depend on a person's body chemistry, should always be tested before purchase. Some perfumes smell good for someone else and not for you, while some may even irritate your skin since these are directly applied. However the circumstances, there's no harm in asking people for advice right? For that I would like to suggest Celine Dion's Sensational scent. It comes in this pretty oval crystal bottle and lady-like pink shade. I recommend it for all of you feminine souls because this perfume is most suitable for a personality that enjoys wearing skirts. It has a light and pleasant floral fragrance which blends perfectly well with summer's pretty blooms.

Since it's also a Cancer Awareness month this March, take advantage of the season and open your eyes to more possibilities--and this you should take literally especially with Maybelline's Volume Express Cat Eyes Mascara. Not only is it an innovative way to channel that wild rocking chic within every empowered woman, as it comes with a comb applicator--which by the way is perfect for hard-to-reach corner lashes; it is also a long-wearing non-clumping product that doesn't hurt the budget at all.

Summer is a season that doesn't come as friendly for heavy make-up so having the perfect mascara such as the Cat Eyes mascara from Maybelline is a heaven-sent deal because it allows kikay ladies like us who feel extremely comfortable with any additional sweeps of beauty on the face look great without doing too much!

With this powerful mascara, you can actually go skip the eyeshadow (save time, money and effort), and face the day feeling light, beautiful and worth all the attention.

But for those who wishes to add some drama or oomph on their summer look, you can still skip using shadows and opt to just use long-wearing and smudge-proof eyeliners to line your sexy lids. For this I recommend Shiseido's Smoothing Eyepencil. To begin with I've seen this wonderful pen do magic (and what I thought was the impossible). Check out my previous blog right here where I put the eyeliner to the heavy "road" test: meaning I applied it in the morning just like how I would in any given occasion, and witness how this sexy pencil graduated with flying colors: meaning it managed to last all day without ever losing grace.

Next to sexy alluring eyes should be the perfect blush. For me the perfect blush is a summer essential because it is very unhealthy to see someone looking so pale despite the scorching summer heat. To achieve this, a great bargain would be Lola's Creme Blush and Highlighter Duo. Not only is it perfect for small beauty kits (I mean who would like to lug around a heavy bag just because of make-up right? That would be so impractical and not to mention, rather, stupid); it is also summer's perfect blusher thanks to it's silky finish and natural glow.

Lola, which is sold exclusively in Marionaudd, SM Mall of Asia, and some Watsons branches, is among the local market's top-rating newcomers. It carries a varied line of smooth-finish compacts and outrageously pigmented lipsticks that are bound to be every "Lola's" best friend. They also come in pretty sexy designs so it won't be surprising if Filipina kikay kits blush because of their sexy red packages.

Now with all these, one would wonder, how should all these make-up be removed at the end of the day? No one wants to carry all the dirt and sweat to dreamland right? That would be a simple request for blemishes and break-outs if practiced routinely so it is best to keep among your shelves a gentle yet effective cleanser that is sure to remove any trace of make-up, oil and dirt off your face. Here is when Olay Regenerist Facial Scrub enters the picture.

It may look intimidating because of its packaging, but just one try of this Olay cleanser and you're bound to give it your hard-earned trust. It is one of the most dependable facial cleansers I've ever tried. Just to give you an idea, waterproof mascaras have nothing against this baby.

I hope that came as an enlightening one for everybody. Please do join my online-food-diaREVOLUTION on Twitter. Everyone from all over the world are invited. Let us help each other! It's easier to diet when you do it with someone who's AS motivated!
