Loreal Paris Collection Star Matte Reds lipstick swatches
Hello Sunshine! Few weeks ago, I did a little flash giveaway on my blog where I gave away the entire L'oreal Collection Star Matte Reds* set. Today, I won't waste your time explaining how this moisturizing matte lipstick range is non-drying like other matte lipsticks; and I won't blabber on about how these lipsticks are super pigmented and long-lasting. I'll just wow you with a bunch of lipstick swatches--the better way of getting to know this amazing--AMAZING--lipstick collection.
Let's begin with my number one favorite--pretty much my staple lipstick since I got my set. I'm talking about Pure Garnet, a very deep wine red that borders on black red, depending on how much you apply. I just love this so so so much. It reminds me a lot of my favorite MAC lipstick, Diva. I can't get enough of it, and although I have a LOT of lipsticks, I'm very sure I'll grab myself a back up of this lipstick--I'm that scared of running out of Pure Garnet.
Now here is Pure Rouge. Make it a bit more brighter red, and it's a very good dupe of my NARS Dragon Girl--only creamier and less velvety. As for the shade, I think this type of red is the most suitable for most skin tones!
My other favorite from this collection is Pure Brick. It's so true to its name. It does look brick red. I love how unique the shade is. It feels so earthy yet very romantic. It's very pretty with laid back hair. So vintage.
On the other hand, is Pure Ruby. A Dazzling red that can definitely give Tay-tay a run for her money! I'm torn between this and Pure Rouge since they offer a bright red for me. Although, I did notice that Pure Rouge registers brighter on camera, so I think it has a cooler undertone than Pure Ruby. That said, reach for Pure Ruby if you like a cool red lipstick, but don't want a shocking red color for your lips.
There's also Pure Amaranthe. The pinkest of all the "Reds" of this collection. I'm not a huge fan of this shade, mostly because I'm a nude or red lipstick kind of girl. I did go through pink lips phases, but when I do, I reach for peachy pink or hotter pink shades.
As for those looking for a flaming hot red, there's Pure Fire. It's a fiery shade, if you ask me. Unfortunately, red orange shades don't do me well, but I have to say, the shade's still a thriller.
Here comes Pure Vermeil, the lipstick bullet I broke during application!!! Anyway, don't worry because I managed to fix my lipstick by melting the broken end, then re-sticking it back to its base. Afterwards, I refrigerated my lipstick and after a few hours, it's good as new!!!
Last but not the least, the most scarlet of them all, Pure Scarleto. This is a true scarlet lipstick shades, and is not for the faint-hearted! This would look super classy with a mod cat eye! It's the prettiest classic red lipstick I swatched from this collection. It's bright, but not too cool. It's warm but not too golden. It's the perfect balance for me.
