FITNESS: Tuck in your Tummy

Whenever I'm curious or confused about something, I always thing of my favorite fictional character, Alice in Wonderland's Cheshire cat.
I have recently decided to keep my Pinterest Fitness board alive and active because I'm drawn to idea of being fit. I hate the sluggish feeling of unhealthiness and because I want to do more in life, I should do whatever it takes to make my body feel more energized =  exercise.

Which brings me to the number one frustration for anyone who's trying to be fit: the tummy. This is what it really takes to get those jiggles unjiggling...

But because I'm feeling a bit curious right now, I did a little bit of reading about a curious treatment called tummy tuck. I figured, I should read on this because I know a few people who have been "tucking" things and I've seen wonderful results. Not that I would go get one because 1) I can't afford it and 2) I'm not ready for something like that--which brings me, given a chance, are you ready?

Because it's a curious and sometimes controversial treatment (if done for vanity), I listed down a few things to know about the treatment. I'm on a broaden thy knowledge spree right now and I'd like to get the ball rolling with my notes on ze tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty for the geeky ones. :)

A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is a form of plastic surgery that removes excess fat and weakened muscles around the tummy area. The main goal is to achieve a trimmer and firmer abdomen area--something that gets a bit more difficult as one ages or after giving birth (for women). If you've had severe weight loss and gain fluctuations or if you just gave birth, a tummy tuck may be an option you would like to explore.

How different is a tummy tuck from exercise? Well first, a tummy tuck is not an exercise substitute. Even if it can help ease removal of excess fat in the tummy area, there's more the the treatment than getting rid of unwanted fats. A tummy tuck deals with stretched skin. Skin as we all know is elastic and there's no natural way of undoing an overstretched skin. If you've heard of weight loss success stories and dilemma s of too much skin sagging here and there, a tummy tuck treatment addresses one of the "there's".

Upon reading about different articles on ze tummy tuck, I realized that it's more than just vanity. Surely you have a few more questions about the treatment such as price or how to find a certified practitioner for a check-up or recommendation. For that, here are some quick FAQs about the tummy tuck procedure. If you want to know the side effects, the promises, the benefits and more of an abdominoplasty, you might want to check out the tummy tuck FAQ list I found.

Have you had this treatment, or know anyone who had? Any fitness tips you want to share? What are your thoughts about abdominoplasty?  Let me know what you think!

I'm thinking, the next notepad post could be about... hair implants?

Think bright. Smile a lot. :)

  2. Tummy tuck is not such a "curious" procedure. it's one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the US. The site you linked to actually says that. Guys do it, too, but far less than women.
