Hello Sunshine! Summer's here and as I've shared with your my summer shower favorites, today I want to share my summer travel buddies. The sunny skies are upon us because of its another summertime of the year, (although, odd enough, why has it been raining???) and I know many of you are bound to the beach or somewhere fun, so I'd like to share some goodies that I think you should also consider taking with your own adventures.

Like this post if you don't like waste!

Hello Sunshine! I have been MIA with my product empties as I figured, it's better to have a bunch of empties and collect as the weeks pass, than just have a few. I do love reading empties posts because I'm interested to know what other beauty-savvies stuck through til the very end. If you share that same fascination, here are my empties for January-February 2013.

Hello Sunshine! It's time to come closer to perfection and erase the time that has marked itself on your skin. I'm talking about, achieving baby soft and baby smooth skin for your face using a soft mousse-type primer that corrects and perfects the complexion, for makeup or on its own, Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Cream Base.

TurnbackTuesday is a section of LovingSunshine.com dedicated to personal thoughts and other stories of inspiration, love and life that I share with you every week. TurnbackTuesday is scheduled on Tuesdays, 11:30AM PH time.

Hello Sunshine! Let me share with you a few things that I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of ghosts (the more evil, the scarier). This is odd because I think I attract ghosts, pun intended. Seriously speaking, I was told that I've been followed by a ghost for five, make that six years already if to date that ghost is still chasing after my shadow. I have long planned cleansing, but couldn't find the means to do the ritual, so yes I'm afraid of ghosts--and would love to think that my fear has some bearing.

I'm also afraid of doing the bad thing. Note, I didn't say wrong, because I'm relatively okay with the idea of making, and learning, from mistakes. But I'm afraid of doing the bad. I've always strove to be a kind person, and those occasions when I fail myself in keeping up with my kindness module weigh heavily on me. People won't understand how low I feel when I end up doing something hurtful, unkind, careless, etc. This may come off as too childish, but I really want to be a reason why people can take a deep sigh and say, alas, hope for humanity.

Hello Sunshine! After sharing my beauty secret against hair fall, I will share with you a sweet and creamy body care item that has been quite a find! I imagine most of you to be en route to a sacred time spent with loved ones (to those practicing the Holy Week celebration); while some are probably off to crazy memorable weekend (to those who are partying the springbreak away). The thought of my readers vacationing is leaving me green with envy, so with that, I felt inspired to shared yet another green beauty product that is derived from nature to enhance our natural beauty. This item smells and looks like white chocolate cream... and it's naturally-derived too! Imagine skincare fresh from nature, I am talking about Zenutrients Cocoa Body Butter.

Hello Sunshine! Back when I was at kindergarten, during these warm "almost" summer days, my friends and I go out to the playground and try to catch ourselves some dragonflies. It was one of my penchant childhood memories, those shared giggles over my first hands-on experience on practicing cunning and slyness. That is why I was gleeful to try this super cute bath soap as gifted by a friend of mine based in California. Thanks my dear Eileen.

Like this post if you have color-treated hair.

Hello Sunshine! Perhaps you've heard already, I re-colored my hair again! If there's one thing I later learned from having/maintaining light-colored hair, it's the inevitability of dark roots! And the grossness of it!

I hate my roots! I hate it when they show the fakeness of my blonde! I always feel silly, wondering if I can be blonde forever, and my roots just breaks the dream! So I recolored. This time, I used Sunset Red, a hair color I've worn quite frequently, but have never really sported coming from bleached hair. Surprisingly, it gave me a rusted orange color--which reminded me a whole lot of my all-time favorite muse, Clementine Kruczynski of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

TurnbackTuesday is a section of LovingSunshine.com dedicated to personal thoughts and other stories of inspiration, love and life that I share with you every week. TurnbackTuesday is scheduled on Tuesdays, 11:30AM PH time.

Hello Sunshine! Because the past few days have been heady, in the oddest of ways, I would resort to poetry for this lovely Tuesday. Something short but sweet, to comfort my inebriated heart. Hope you like it.

Turn your world upside down
what do you see
a world that defies
or gravity?

Flip the tables, round about
what will you reach
a new order of hope
or intimacy?

Sometimes, the most challenging of turns hit us too close to the dent that we ourselves hit them hard, and we fall. In the process of falling, sometimes we find odd ways of seeing the things we have long been looking at but never really wondered to explore with our eyes--our eyes that are mostly transfixed on goals and means.

Sometimes, when you're stripped of the precautionary expectations of life, we live. Else, we find out ways to die. Bit by bit, a light after the other, until there's nothing left to do but sink into the nausea and let go.

What do you think of grand piano's on the ceiling?

The day I met Ransom Riggs, author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, was also the day I met The Sense of an Ending, a best seller that tackles loss, life, damages and gains in a forlorn yet beautifully crafted manner. I have to admit, I find guilty pleasure in reading stories that reek of bitterness and solitude.

Moving forward, this Julian Barnes novel caught my eye like a stubborn unforgotten ex seen from the distance. I picked my copy of the book from Fully Booked Fort because I had a long wait to go and my my my, this book kept on pulling me in.

A dear friend of mine, Sophie of Beautynomics.com, told me that girls have a way of outgrowing exes. We were talking about this viral video when we ended up brushing on the "ex" box. I agreed with her primarily because I believe that in heartbreaks, considering the depth the shadows of grief, there's no way to go but up.

Hello Sunshine! Alas, summer is here. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling that the heat is on more and more each day. Naturally, the winds are blowing our spirits to the beach. Nothing feels best than frolicking by beautiful shores and cool clear ocean waters when the sun is ablaze. Consequently, nothing makes smooth fuzz-free skin more of a requirement than the sunny summer season.

Skin is in, and when the temperature's up the charts and fashion is sheer and cut provocatively, a hair-free body is your best accessory! Have you ever reached that point of no return? What did you do? How did it feel?

Change is always frightful because it shatters the normalcy that sometimes, we ourselves strive to be numbed with. There's comfort in keeping things status quo, they say, but then again there's glory in going against the current for grander purposes like what you think is right, or what you feel should be done.

When I started my blissfully turbulent adventure with Cassie, Matched trilogy's effervescent heroine, I didn't expect I'd be hooked to the story til the very end. Sure, something about the green dress captivated me, and of course, I found sweet solace in the idea of red, green and blue escape capsules--naturally, the Matched trilogy got the escapist side of me swooning over the dystopian world captured in the book; but more than anything, the Matched series ignited my dulling need for change, or what I musingly call, some shaking up.

World shook, indeed.

A dream is definitely a wish our hearts make. Everyday, when I look at myself at the mirror, I always hope to see clarified skin. I dread days when I see a rash or a spot that would need some treating--also dread to witness dullness and blotchy skin before a day rolls out for me. To achieve clarified and purified skin, I then follow a not-so-strict, but a well-enthused skin care regimen that involves using facial masks religiously. Do you use face masks? No? You should.

What is tenderness?

A question raised by the highest of all names of my list--my list, which is now void, if I may say. What is tenderness? For a word of simpleton, the meaning is an overexposed picture--a signification or manifestation of a here and there, a now and later, and ever never always after.

Today, I shall share with you what to me is tenderness. Or at least I will give it my most sincere try.

Tenderness is the humming breeze that touches your skin after a heated day. It is that sigh of relief, released, with an expectation of better things ahead--some of which are beginning right now. I think of tenderness when I take an evening route home, when I see the sparkling lights of the city twinkle from afar, and I imagine they are of a thousand ships waiting to kiss my shores. I think there's tenderness in savoring the silence between listening and understanding another soul. For tenderness is in opening the gates that once had cracked due to circumstances unexpected. It is in breaking down the walls, in exchange of sunlight, peering through panes and glass castles.

Last Sunday I took a day-off (yes, I work on Sundays), and went to the Ransom Riggs book signing and QnA event at Fully Booked. It was one mighty cool day because it opened with a drizzle and closed with a shower of pleasant memories.

At 10am, the line for the book signing was already quite long! Fortunately, my Japanese gene compels me to always be on time (or better yet, early) so the line came after me. I got the number 39, which was good, because at 10am, people were already lining up for the hundreds! That's how much Ransom Riggs is loved by his Filipino readers.

I have been finding myself at a 24-hr convenience store more than usual lately. Sometimes for an occasional drink (just water!), sometimes a snack. But one time, I chanced upon a well stocked 7-Eleven branch and saw a Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm. It's the one in Smoothing Cherry. It had such a lovely color-coordinate for its simple packaging! I just love Turqouise (check blog color!) and Pink! It reminds me of my all-time favorite color combination: green and pink.

Of course I went home with it because I love Baby Lips! I love anything and everything under lip care and color anyway so it wasn't a difficult decision to make. Such a random purchase, when on a convenience-run, yet very rewarding.

True enough, if you just keep your eyes open, you can find beauty anywhere!

If you don't get enough sleep, and clearly, that reality is the most obvious story written on your face, then like me, you're probably on an eternal search for quality foundation! Maybe, like me, you've gone through racks of BB creams, matte and all-sorts-of-finish foundations, powders and mousse formulations, etc. It's truly one big adventure, to find a cosmetic product that can surpass expectations, but trust me, and those who're lucky like I have been, trust us, that when you find the one, you'd.just.know.

Why? Because clear smooth beautiful flawless skin is black and white, it's either you have it or you don't. And I'm not talking about innate perfection--I'm talking about a pro-active choice to be closer to that perfection. To put it more properly, achieving clear smooth beautiful flawless skin is black and white, it's either you can or can not. And boy, does my featured product of the day make it easy to say, yes I can!

Back in high school, I have always found myself smitten by this little love quote: I love you like a fat kid loves cake. I just find it so innocently adorable, and I couldn't help but feel flushed with its sincerity and lightness. This month, there's a whole world of sweetness awaiting us beauty lovers. One of my favorite Korean houses of color will release a delectable Spring collection, Sweet Recipe.

Sweet Recipe is a makeup range inspired by the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel. In the story, if you don't know about it, siblings Hansel and Gretel discovered a house made of sweets and pastries in the middle of the forest. Being a Grimm fairy tale, it had a dark ending, but Etude House's interpretation focused on the sweetness, playfulness and youthfulness of living in candyland!

Before 2012 ended, I found myself hooked on Lauren Kate's Fallen series. What started as #bookgifts ended up as an addition to my growing collection of books. To those who haven't tried it yet, young adult books are quite fun to "rest" with because they are usually very light with little mini truths tucked between the pages. I really enjoy reading young adult books because they are innocent, less contrived and more often than not, relaxed enough to be digested with my afternoon tea.

I feel sexiest when I carry with me a secret. It can go from anything random such as "mischief managed"-worthy or playful such as a new makeup palette (that I will hide at home at risk of getting scolded for having too much already!)

But among the many secrets that I like keeping to myself (unless, "evangelizing") is my waxing schedule. As much as I live an opened book lifestyle, I don't think I can ever bring myself to divulging even my hair removal schedules online--especially if it's for le down there.

Fortunately, a new waxing salon just opened for this very need of privacy. Yes, it's very sexy to be hair-free, but I have my days where I want my fuzz-free life to be about hygiene and preference than sheer haughtiness--and naughtiness.

Very subtle, yet so captivating, Wink Waxing Salon at Bonifacio Global City is my new hair removal salon-go-to because they're very affordable and very professional! Their service, ambiance and staff's diligence, patience and grace was on point for me! I even wrote on my planner already--that I have to book a schedule in few weeks time because I really can't see myself going elsewhere for my hair removal needs.
