Like this post if you agree that no man's an island.
I'm a very bad shopper. I sometimes pick the wrong size or wrong color because I hate trying on things at the mall. I don't like the process of undressing over and over again--especially if my budget is not sky high. Imagine trying on three or five outfits only to go home with less than one? Not cool.

So yesterday I was at Rustans (at the beauty section), and I literally wanted to buy everything! Well, that's an exaggeration... although I did want to buy something from every turn! But I didn't because I found out I lost my money! So much for thinking I could be disciplined, I didn't buy because I couldn't afford to spend! I did buy something for my sister though because she sweet talked me into getting her a shirt. In my family, I'm the only beauty crazed one. The rest are into clothes... ah ha! Maybe that's why I don't really fancy buying clothes (note on my disdain over trying on outfits). I can just borrow! LOL

Anyway, I bought something for myself; unfortunately, I got the wrong size! Tsk. What's your take on a size smaller bra? Katy Perry?

I will be on a "vacation" next week so I won't be able to keep up with my one post a day commitment (did anyone notice how hardworking I've been?) But before I leave, let me share with you one of the things I'd be bringing with me to Antique, an island province mid-section of our humble archipelago. It's the cute Etude House Fan Brush my sister surprised me with. I adore it so much because it's very handy, easy to clean (despite it being white/pink haired), and it is also very cute!

It comes with its own pouch too so it's perfect for travel! I can use this brush for my face powder, blush, bronzer and highlighting powder--so it's definitely a must-have travel brush for me.

Speaking of travel, every year I declare a "summer song". If I remember it well, last year I got so hooked with the song Price Tag. This year, my calming song would be Next to You by Chris Brown--but yeah I hate the fact that it is Bieber-fied LOL. I really liked the lyrics though. This song hits home. The song makes me feel hopeful while also inspires me to question myself--what do I have to offer?

How about you, what's your spring/summer song?

Like this post if you love to daydream that you're livin' a different life--maybe richer, like a popstar! maybe a The Voice contestant!!!
I have always been fascinated over the idea of a parallel universe. Whenever things are a bit sucky, I always find myself thinking in a parallel universe things will be...

People who know me also could notice how I like things "twins". I even call my 14 year old sister kambal, a Filipino word for twin. I also have a friend who I call twin (and if you're reading this Paula Pamatmat, I miss you, on the record). So imagine the pleasant feelings that rose up to my chest when I noticed a slight similarity between my The Balm Hot Mama and ELF Candid Coral.

All year-round, these two blushes make the perfect go-to shade for that summer-bronzed but pinkish-coral pinch glow. The difference between the two? Hot Mama has a pinker undertone while Candid Coral is obviously more coral (orange). Despite those differences, I can definitely suggest these two blushes to any one, whatever the skin tone. If you want something more fancy and multi-functional, get The Blam's Hot Mama because it's a blush cum eye shadow. If you want a dupe for Hot Mama then go and grab a pan of Candid Coral--just don't use it as an eye shadow as it's not really formulated to be used for the eyes.

Scroll for more pictures. Let me know what you think through the comments below!
So beautiful.
ELF is available in most drugstores/department stores; while The Balm is available at Beauty Bar outlets. If you don't have a Beauty Bar outlet near you, you might want to try their online store.

Like this post if you're feeling lucky this season!
Few days left to join my Summer Giveaway sponsored by House of Flair. Join it here.

In the giveaway, one of the bonus entries can be claimed just by simply sharing which among the loot made you lust the most! This seems to be the winner (Don't worry, I have my own Benefit Ultra Shines Back to the Fuchsia so the gloss you could be winning is brand new.)

I have to say, Benefit Cosmetics is a master of naming their products. Sure, anything related to sex or being sexy can definitely sell an item (or anything for the matter); but fun and quirky names are also fool-proof marketing ploys! :) If you're from my generation, surely the name Back to the Fuchsia triggered a hint of nostalgia.
Benefit Ultra Shines has the most workable gloss wand I've ever tried. It reminds me of nail polish brushes! :D They have very disciplined brushes for this range of lip gloss.

By this time, I typed in the word fuchsia thrice already and I am seriously fearing the idea of misspelling it. Oh, how can such a pretty color be such a spelling demon?! Then I read on Wiki (although you shouldn't trust everything from Wiki), that I spelled it right. I hope from this point forward, I never commit the mistake of spelling fuchsia wrongly.. . now that I know it's named after Leonhart Fuchs, a German scientist who I assume discovered the plant.
Fuchsia is a synonym of magenta! So there's an easier word for it??? jdlkjwerfaiwjflnbdeslng! :D

Anyway, Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Shines Lip Shine in Back to the Fuchsia is a bold magenta on the bottle but glides on a bit sheerer on the lips. Notice the color and the unique glittery surface it evokes? Scroll down to see how it delivers.

Don't worry though, it's sheerness doesn't sacrifice color completely. It still delivers a nice just-bitten all-over gloss on the lips--and the fun part is, it has the most unique glitter for a gloss! I hope I captured it in the photo which you can zoom in on if you click on it.

If I were in high school, I'd totally wear this lip gloss to prom. I can only imagine how magical it'd be as it captured the glitter from my dress (of course I'd wear a shimmery dress haha)! The fun part, you can win your own Benefit Ultra Shines Back to the Fuchsia lip shine... plus more! Check the loot here, and join okay? Three days left to join!

The loot bag also includes items from these brands and more! Visit the giveaway post for full details.

Good luck!

Like this post if you've tried at least one Human Heart Nature product
If you're anything like me, then you should be the type who would totally buy a product because of its name and because of its packaging. Today, let me share with you Human Heart Nature's newest body lotion. It's named aptly as Berry Bliss. Coined as a "Healthy Lotion", this 100% natural body lotion is recommended for everyday use. I even adore it's usage directions (enlarge the back photo below to read yourself): Relax and sing a happy tune and gently massage all over the body after bathing to replenish lost moisture of as often as required.

Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Healthy Lotion in Berry Bliss is absolutely free from harmful chemicals. It has no mineral oil, parabens, silicones, phtalates or other toxic chemicals. Living in the age of environmental pollution, I think the best thing we can do to our body (and our environment) is to support products that promote a "green lifestyle". If more people are able to see the big picture, that environmental destruction will not cease if the chemical industry is supported by governments and end-users; the the better for everyone (not just humans, even animals, plants, non-living things! hihi).

By the way, this lotion, like a lot of Human Nature's products are certified by PETA as cruelty free. :)

"Isn't it interesting how some of us give a lot of TLC to our face but totally forget about caring for our body, which is seven times larger? It's time we give our body the attention it needs! Our all-natural Healthy Lotion has the perfect combination of Passion Fruit, Sunflower and Avocado Oils to nourish your skin with those much needed vitamins and antioxidants. Best of all, we've formulated it without any parabens, mineral oil or other unhealthy, harmful ingredients that most lotions have! Plus, it smells so Berry Blissfully delightful that you might find yourself reaching for our Healthy Lotion over again!"

I think having cheered on UP Fighting Maroons for almost my entire College life, to get the maroon off my skin would be a futile attempt. I am emotionally attracted to the lotion's color scheme more than I love the product, as well, a lotion. Nonetheless, I am not one to say no to any added dose of happiness. Berry bliss is rich in anti-oxidants that keeps the skin cared for and nourished. The scent of this lotion is also a reason for re-application (many times in a day)!

If my memory serves me well, I started using Human Heart Nature late 2010 and ever since I started using Human Heart Nature products, I must say my life changed. Frankly, I stuck to my Human Nature diet more than any other diet ever changed my life, haha! It's like the brand's philosophies, advocacies and principles got etched to my very being... to the point that I can't get it out of my system, nor would I want to! They have absolutely amazing products and when you start learning about what the products stand for, greatness just overflows.

Fast forward to today, the brand is still the brand that I fell in love with. The long list of customers who continue supporting it and believing in the change that Human Heart Nature wants to embody as a company is a testament of how it's definitely more fun in the Philippines! :) For capturing the greatness of the Philippines as a country of beautiful people, minds and resources, Human Heart Nature is #1forFUN. :)

Because it's the sunny season once more, I think it's just timely that I met this new body loving product. You should get acquainted too. Because I know Human Heart Nature is not available internationally, email me if you want to try their truly made with love products -- or if you're from southern luzon (yes, haha) please like HNCavite. :) If you're from the US, don't fret because Human Heart Nature is available there too! :p

On a Copper Blonde note, here's a HAIR UPDATE!
I had my hair colored again. As much as I do recognize that summer is not the best season to have your hair colored, I did just that! You should know by now how much I love coloring my hair... but this time, I gave my rusty DIY skills a break and had my hair dyed at the salon.

Here's some BEFORE photos. Notice the special participation of my roots! Seriously, I have never had showing roots that long before! I normally color my hair every two-three months; but lately I got so out of sorts. I couldn't even tend to my locks! :(

But I hope you could also notice how shiny my hair is! I know I don't have perfect hair especially because I style (color) it crazy, but my hair's so lively and shiny and bouncy because I have been using SLS-free shampoo for more than 2 yrs!!! Oh man, don't get me starting a hair-talk. I never finish a hair-talk without a rave over Human Heart Nature hair care! I LOVE their hair range. Seriously, I used to be all over those Japanese Pantene stuff--thinking--of course the Japanese has a better version! BUT after switching to Human Heart Nature's hair care products, my hair was just given a second chance at life! :)

Because of Human Heart Nature, I get to do what I want to my hair (ie. color it like a maniac haha), and grow it long and lush (without worrying about hairfall--cause yes, their products remedied my hair fall problem!). Now that I just had my hair colored, I'm sure to pamper up with tubs and tubs of their hair masks! :D

Enough of the rave, here are some AFTER photos. Sorry my hair's straight in the photos! I blame the salon! They always straighten my hair after a hair anything. IDKY. Is there an unwritten rule saying, no one steps out of a salon with curly hair??? I wish they just let my hair air-dry. I was to lazy to speak for myself so I just let them. I never really like myself with straight hair, anymore. I prefer my hair loose and wavy--like my brains! :p

I don't like thinking straight!

So to those who shared their thoughts on my POLL, thank you! I just want you to know that all your words were comforting. This was the best solution I could come up with. I realized, I'm truly a redhead (I can't imagine not being one) so I decided to choose a blonde with the most red undertone. I figured, my Asian hair would make the undertone more vibrant; hence my red-orange-copper-but really a blonde-hair color. Aah, a no make-up face shot!

To those who would be wondering, my hair color is Copper Blonde. :)

PS. I have the ugliest brows! HELP PLS!

Like this post if you like Pink!

Here's a cool way of facing summer... use a sheer lip gloss. Because summer isn't really the season to wear make-up, glosses can really come full circle this time of the year. I'm an avid fan of natural beauty but there's something about how a hint of lip gloss can really bring life to a flat face.

Let me share with you Lip Ice Color Gloss collection. It's very timely to talk about these products as the shades from this range are all fresh and welcoming. :) Summer Pink, to me, is the friendliest color for the lips (or any sort of make-up, really) and when it's the season to be fun and ready to mingle, you shouldn't be caught looking dull and unapproachable.

Let me share with you (from L-R) Summer Pink, Candy Apple and Pearl Pink. What I love about these glossies? They're so travel-friendly. Because summer is all about soaking up some fun sun, anything that can easily fit my kikay kit is welcome in my life! Don't let the photo deceive you, these lippies are in squeeze type tubes so they are hassle-free to use--yes, I'm not a fan of glosses with wands! That packaging is the most unhygienic; even if you don't lend your gloss to anyone!

Since I bet you'd all be wearing bright and beaming colors for your clothes or accessories, it's great to know that these Lip Ice Color Glosses are sheer. Although they come in full-bodied levels of pinks, they only leave behind a subtle hint of color. In fact, being a sheer lip gloss, you would notice on my lip swatches how faint the variations in color is (if you notice one at all); but let me first share how they swatch on a white sheet of paper. Then, check out my swatches!
Pearl Pink
Summer Pink
Candy Apple

I really appreciate that these glossies are not sticky at all; they don't feel warm on the lips and they don't leave behind an uminom ka ba ng sabaw ng adobo??? look. For my international readers, what I meant to say was, theses lip glosses don't leave behind an overwhelmingly oily film as a coat. I do appreciate glossy lips as a hint of shine makes puckers look fuller and more kissable; BUT I don't like it when some glosses overdo the shine. Using Lip Ice Color Gloss is like taking a bite off a juicy watermelon! Fresh and simple--yet sparkling!

I also love that the lip gloss is simple. As much as I like extravagance in life, I appreciate simplicity at its finest. The Lip Ice Color Gloss collection has multiple lip benefits to boot! It contains Macadamia Seed Oil, Aloe Extract and Lanolin Oil to help moisturize your lips; and it has vitamin E that is rich in anti-oxidants--important to prevent aging (yes darling, your lips age too). Shimmery, subtle and sweet, I think summer's bound to be amazing this year!

When you remove the cap, it'd look like this. I keep on thinking of Cinderella's glass slippers every single time!

Love its clean and sleek structured packaging. Besides being more hygienic, I prefer squeeze type lip glosses as they are more practical. Ever finished up a tube of lip gloss (with a wand)? No right? Squeezies are so much better.

You might also want to try their fruity lip balms with SPF. I love that they have a grape flavored lip balms! In fact, their lip balms are all so uniquely flavored! If you're bored with the usual strawberry, check out their collection stat!

Have you tried Lip Ice products? They're available at Watsons! :)

Like this post if you want whiter underarms!
One of my all-time top-viewed post is my review of the Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil. You can read it here if you'd like to revisit my underarm challenge.

Since the sun's up and about again, the season of sleeveless tops make it twice as important to have fair underarms. This suggestion still involves using the beauty oil, but I added two new products in the regimen for some variety and "expedited" results.

STEP 1: Keep it Natural
I am a firm believer that anything bad should be flushed out. If you want to whiten your underarms, and if you're really serious in wanting to whiten your underarms, perspire! Well, it's not the perspiration that will whiten it, it's you kicking the habit of using chemical deodorants that would. Switch or continue using the All-Natural Women's Deodorant from Human Heart Nature (P89.75) if you like but in the event that their deodorants get sold out, I would recommend trying out Nivea's Pure & Natural Deodorant. It has a mild Jasmine scent that I love and it doesn't leave white streaks on clothes. Like Human Nature's deo, Nivea's Pure & Natural deodorant let's the skin breathe, doesn't keep in toxins, is gentle on the skin and is free from aluminum salts--an ingredient normally found in anti-perspirants
.
STEP 2: Reinforce Beauty
Instead of using a deodorant at night, use the Sunflower Beauty Oil (50ml/P129.75; 100ml/P289.75) to lighten your underarms. You won't need to worry about perspiring or smelling bad at night anyway since you'd just be getting your daily zzz's. Make your sleep work for you by using the time as your chance to reinforce your skin's natural beauty. The pure-grade oil is not just good at lightening and brightening the skin (not just your underarms, but pretty much your skin in general); but also, it is great in softening your skin thus prevent growth of ingrown hair. If you have stretchmarks on the sides of your arms, using Sunflower Beauty Oil at night is also great to remedy that.

STEP 3: Exfoliate
One very helpful treatment i lightening the skin involves exfoliation. Basically, when you exfoliate, you pave way for younger and newer skin to resurface. Exfoliating your underarms with GoNaturals Skin Peel Purificator is helpful in speeding up the lightening process as it is infused with the skin lightening goodness of Papaya enzymes. WARNING: this product smells sooo bad! And I don't mean smell bad because it doesn't have parfum type. I have very high tolerance for scent especially for natural products because I do appreciate their lack of scent-enhancing chemicals... but this skin-peeling products really smells darn bad. It's a good product to try though as it's just (P69.75).

Te-duh!

FYI, I shave my underarms and yes shaving has a tendency of darkening the armpits and other forms of skin damages; but because I use the Sunflower Beauty Oil, I don't have nasty skin bumps, ingrown hair growth and chicken skin. :D

If you'd like to try out Human Heart Nature products, email me so I can help you! It's not available as internationally, but why not right? It's affordable and worth it anyway!

If you have other tips for underarm whitening, comment please! :)

Like this post if you adore make-up brushes
I just want to share with you where Spring cleaning led me. I've been working real REAL R-E-A-L hard to organize and clean my room little by little. Last Thursday, I got to finally arrange my cosmetic closet and my brush drawer. Basically my cosmetic closet is where I keep my back up stash. As a Japanese, the key to my organization is lots of stacking! :p

I got lazy to take pictures as I was running out of sunlight (it took me so long to clean and decide which goes to where and tralala) so let me just share with you the final output of my efforts. :) I have so much foam curlers... even if my hair's naturally curly already! I must have a curl addiction!

I just bought a few nail polishes earlier so I'm playfully considering sharing with you my haul of colors. (nice play of words huh?) You can't see it through the photo above but I towered three stacks of organizing baskets to hold my nail polish collection.

I also realized how few my face masks are... I know I still have a lot but you have no idea how many I usually keep within reach! I love face masks! I should probably shop for more!

Spring cleaning was also a shock as I just discovered that I have a weakness over tissue paper! LOL I have so much tissue paper! I fall sucker for tissue paper bundles especially those huge wholesale packs because they normally come in cute packets!

To compensate my cosmetic closet's lack of detail, let me share with you my make-up brush collection. I'm so proud because whatever brush you don't see in the brush pockets, they're just drying... which means, tenenen, all my brushes are freaking squeaky clean! Considering the fact that I have roughly 200 brushes, yeah, I've been very hardworking lately! :D

Before anything else, let me show you a before and after photo. Then you can scroll down to briefly view what I, you guessed it right, stacked.

I store my brushes in this pull out drawer that I place under my bed. Inside it are little packets of silica and anti insect patch stuff because I believe that for a make up brush storage, one should make sure that molds and pests are kept away.

Yey! Isn't it neat! Let's start from the top!

NOTE: As I'm hosting photos, I realized I failed to take a picture of one of my brush sets--the one in a pink leather pouch. If you want to view it, please visit this post instead, sorry.

Sad news first. I recently (like super recently) was gifted with this Ecotools brush set which oh my goodness made me cry because I really wanted one and was so surprised to be, well, surprised with one! So of course I was such a neat freak, the littlest stain on the pouch prompted me to having it cleaned. SADLY, when it was returned to me, not only was the lip gloss stain not removed, it got stained more!! I don't find it any less attractive despite the mess though. This brush set has sentimental value.

Beside Ecotools, I keep a pouch of clean make-up sponges. Frankly, I'm not a sponge person. I just use them when I'm feeling lazy. Recently, I read you can use make-up sponges for nail art? I gotta give that a try.

I'll be posting pictures from top to bottom so don't be surprised if the drawer starts to empty itself out in the photos. :) Now I want you to check out my candy-colored brush sets. The Yellow one is of course the Yellow Bambu brushes I featured here. The green ones are the Green Bambu brushes I featured here; while the pink one's the Vegan brushes I featured here. So you got it right, those three wonderfully colored brushes are not just F-U-N in color, they are also all vegan!

Speaking of cruelty-free brushes, I also have this ELF Bamboo brush set kept inside my ELF Studio Line brush set... and with it I keep random brushes from Tony Moly, Etude House and Ecotools (temporarily, while I had the Ecotools pouch washed, I kept the brushes here).

And speaking of Charm brushes... let me share with you more of Charm's pink delicacy.

Just like how my ELF brush pouch served as home for other tools, my Charm Travel Pro v.1 also works hard as a home for my Etude House Fan Brush, Etude House Stippling Brush (the best Stippling brush in the world!), Studio Tools Travel Brush Set, Marionnaud travel brushes and Sephora Precision Sponge which I featured here. To those who are familiar with Charm Travel Pro v.1, yes I no longer have the Stippling Brush from the set because this tragic thing happened. It just bled and bled until the ferrule separated from the handle!

Besides the travel-sized Marionnaud brushes inside my Charm Travel Pro v.1 pouch, I have this little Marionnaud brush set which I found super ideal for travelling. Have two of this... but one is with mom. :)

Two others sets which I can recommend for travel are these Real Techniques sets. The missing brushes are the ones drying out at the time I took pictures. :)

The least ideal for traveling is definitely this luxurious traditional Japanese brush from Wawaza.

And now I share with you my brush sets. I like buying sets because I'm a brush collector! :p Sadly, I have vowed and vowed to post a review of the Coastal Scents brushes that you see third from the top... but I still haven't posted one! Is it too late to share? Oh, also, the first brush roll isn't actually a set. It was one until I sold the brushes for a super good deal (since I was keeping the roll with me). It's my all-time favorite brush roll. It's from a local brand called Dollface. I think their brush roll was superb but the brushes that came with it were BLAH. Now, the roll serves home to my pouchless brushes. Yehp, one reason why I like buying brushes by the set, I hate brushes that are left homeless!!!

Let me also just share that the second set from the top is a Bdellium Tools Maestro 12-pc Antibacterial brush set BUT the contents are a bit of a random range of face brushes because I needed the thick pockets for my homeless face brushes. The eye brushes from the Maestro set is in the top pouch.

So whew! That was a lot!

Before I end this post, let me share with you the brush I'm lamenting over. It's a Kim Professional Powder Brush. Totally loved it earlier (read here) but after a lot more wash, I noticed that the velvety handle started to crack. It's so painful to look at now. :( Don't you just hate it when a product you love suddenly lets you down?

Anyway, that's really it for now! Let me know what you think!
